WYNAAR is a design-led brand, starting with homes chosen for their light and their land, art-directed to the last detail, and hosted personally.

THE IDEA

WYNAAR began with a simple belief: that the feeling of a place is designed. Light, material, what you leave out, the order in which you see a room.

Usually these things happen by accident. Here they happen on purpose. We choose few houses, and we choose them slowly: for their light, their land, and what lies within a short drive. Then we design them to be lived in, photograph them honestly, and host every stay ourselves.

We're Yuri Darius and Melissa Swider, partners in life and in WYNAAR, and parents to a two-year-old daughter. We love to travel, and we love coming home. WYNAAR started there: we wanted to give guests the experience we look for ourselves, from a beautifully designed home to a five-star stay.

Melissa is a luxury residential real estate agent with a background in public relations. She knows what makes a house worth choosing, and how to look after the people who walk through it.

Yuri is an art director and fine art photographer with more than thirteen years in luxury fashion, beauty, real estate, hospitality, and lifestyle. She designs and photographs every WYNAAR home.

We keep each house the way we'd want to find it, and we answer every message ourselves.

Huis

Huis is Dutch for house. Dutch is the language of Suriname, where Yuri's family comes from, so the word carries a little of home for her. To us it's the difference between a rental and a home, and the word we want every stay to feel like.
